braided Line to Leader
When attaching a leader to braided fishing line or dacron fishing line, the choice becomes limited. Contrary to popular conception most braided fishing line is highly susceptible to wear and highly prone to slippage. These problems can become exaggerated do to two different line types being joined.
Marinews.com  refers to these fishing lines as super-lines. Super-lines in that they are fine, limp, have little stretch, lack memory and are very strong. They are, however, susceptible to wear and they do require extra care in both knot choice and knot when joining braid to leader.   Differing line diameters created with the joining of the finer super-lines to heavier leaders exasperates the problems. Slippage is of major concern and only a few knots are suitable for the task.
The illustrated knots here are suitable for both saltwater fishing and freshwater fishing situations

The Cross Loop Connection forms a connection between two loops.
The Double Centauri knot is an excellent knot for joining lines with similar and slight variations in line diameter, this makes it a particularly versatile line to line knot.
The Double Nail knot provides a strong connection between two lines of similar or different diameters.
The Improved Blood Knot is a variation of the standard blood knot; used when lines that are of dissimilar thickness require joining.
The Nail less Nail knot is a useful knot for joining a thinner line to a thicker line or leader. In the case of fly fishing, this would nominally be backing line to mainline or fly line to leader.
The plaited splice is a method of joining two lines and provides maximum line strength.
The Reverse Twist Blood Knot is an effective knot for joining two lines and follows the same principle of the blood knot. It works well with monofilament, light lines and some super lines.
The Simple Simon Double is a quick and easy method of attaching cordage or lighter line to heavier line. It is used where the lines vary significantly in diameter size.
Slim Beauty is a connection for connecting line to a heavier leader.
