The Double fisherman's knot is simply an improvement on the Fisherman's knot. It employs two double overhand knots to join two lines to one another. The Double Fisherman's knot forms a simple bend which is reasonably secure on cordage type lines but limited on nylon based or super lines, although it can be strengthened further by trebling or quadrupling the overhand knots.It's a good knot for children to learn as it is easier to tie than many of the more secure line joining knots.
